If you were born in the 60s chances are at some point in your pre-teen/teen life you spent some time on a Huffy Bike. You may actually recall the freedom that two wheels and no particular place to go created. In fact, you can probably picture it right now. It was an adventure made possible by a trusted friend, Huffy. Fast forward 40 years and Huffy is faced with parents who know their name, but meaningless to today’s kids. Taken over by decals and designs plastered with the likenesses of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora the Explorer or the latest celebrity cartoon character that’s hot, the bicycle lost what it once stood for. We thought it was time to dust off the pedals, inflate the tires and roll out the brand the way it was meant to be portrayed… as a symbol of childhood independence.
